What do we believe about THE BIBLE?
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God. That means every word of scripture is chosen by God himself, people were moved by the Spirit to write words of Scripture. Therefore, the Bible is without error and is useful for teaching and instructing us in how to live as people of God. That means The Bible is God’s perfect guidebook for living. The Bible is God’s love letter to all of humanity and is the final authority in every issue it communicates.
What do we believe about GOD?
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the son of God) who became flesh to reveal to God to humanity and to become the Saviour of the lost world. He has existed from the beginning of time, yet lived on earth during the first century A.D. Throughout His earthly life, he was completely God and completely human at the same time. So, Jesus is God showing himself to us.
What do we believe about PEOPLE?
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God to enjoy deep friendship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through choosing selfish disobedience. As a result we are totally incapable of coming back into the right relationship with God by his own effort or good works. Grace is the only way to have a relationship with God, and until we know how much God loves us, it doesn’t really matter what we know about anything else....
What do we believe about SALVATION?
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis fro the forgiveness of sins. therefore, salvation only occurs when a person puts their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the full sufficient sacrifice and payment for personal sin.
What do we believe about THE CHRISTIAN LIFE?
We believe that being a Christian means being a Christ follower. he is in charge of our lives so every Christian should live for Christ and not for ourselves. By obedience to the teaching of the Bible and daily receiving the power of the Holy Spirit, every believer can be fulfilled to discover their life purpose, showing we love Him by serving others and ultimately become more and more like Jesus.
What do we believe about THE CHURCH?
We believe that the Christian church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. the purpose of the Church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the world he loves so much. The church is to serve people like Jesus served people.
What do we believe about BEING A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH?
Membership here is not just having your name on a list. Anyone is very welcome to attend any of our services as a visitor, but it won’t be long before you are challenged to get involved in doing life Jesus’ way! That involves a willingness to partner with us in our mission to extend the Kingdom of God in Horsley and the surrounding areas, one life at a time.
We believe life change happens through small groups, so we’ll ask you to join one. we’ll invite you to discover your gifts by doing a Network Course and you’ll be encouraged to give of your ‘time, treasures and talents’ as you find an area of service that fits your personality and passion. You’ll be able to play your part in the great plan of God and we’ll then celebrate as we publicly welcome you to the family!
